Six Steps to Video Production The Six Steps to Video Production is a brief handbook for Youth Activists who want to make videos about the campaigns they are involved in and to spread the message about subjects related to combating Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC). It is meant to be a brief, fun and effective manual that teaches youth on how to create, edit, upload and promote videos. The Six Steps to Video Production handbook is available in English.
Youth-led Study on the Vulnerability of Children Living in the Red Light Areas of Kolkata, India This youth-led study conducted by the India Youth Partnership Project’s local organization, Sanlaap, provides a greater understanding of the realities faced by children living and growing up in the four largest red light areas in Kolkata, India, namely, Kalighat, Bowbazar, Tollygunge, and Khidderpur. The understanding of the vulnerabilities faced by these children would lead to the effort to explore potential measures to improve the protection of children living in these areas. The findings and recommendations from this study provides a stronger platform from which to advocate for greater action and meaningful policy change to ensure better living conditions and essential child protection mechanisms within communities located in red light areas. Youth-Led Survey on the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Vulnerable Children & Youth in Dhaka Slum Areas Conducted by the local organization involved in the Youth Partnership Project in Bangladesh, Aparajeyo-Bangladesh, this youth-led survey of children and young people living in the slum areas of Dhaka city provided first-hand information on the children’s vulnerability to commercial sexual exploitation, child sexual abuse, trafficking and early marriage in the socio-economic context of the slum environment. The information collected featured the general living conditions of children within the slum environment, as well as issues of child sexual abuse, commercial sexual exploitation, trafficking and early marriage. The results of this survey would be important to advocate for more resources for the protection of the children’s safety and well-being living in such environments. Youth-Led Study in the Vulnerability of Young Girls Working in Restaurants, Bars and Massage Parlours in Kathmandu Developed and conceptualized by the YPP Youth from Maiti Nepal, CWIN & Bishwas Nepal, this youth-led survey studied the specific vulnerabilities of the young girls involved in employment in the food and service industries in Kathmandu, to explore measures for ensuring their protection. The specific objectives of the survey were to assess the vulnerability of children and youth working in cabin restaurants, dance bars, massage parlours and dohori restaurants in Kathmandu, identify the level of awareness among youth working in these establishments regarding possible exploitation and the dangers they face and to explore measures for strengthening the protection of these children and young people based on feedback and recommendations from their peers.
