Commitment to the Stockholm Agenda for Action: 28th August 1996
Egypt has not yet developed a National Plan of Action against commercial sexual exploitation of children. Nevertheless, the republic signed the Stockholm Declaration against CSEC in 1996.
According to a recent study, very little has been done to ensure that the law deals with children as victims in need of protection with fundamental rights rather than criminals. It is relevant to note that no units or offices in the Ministry of Health, Labour, Social Insurance and Education are mandated to address CSEC issues.
