The National Plan of Action on Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation of Children was drafted in early 2001 by the Ministry of Women and Children, the National Council on Children and Bangladesh Shishu Adhikar Forum with the support of UNICEF and ILO/IPEC. NGO representatives were involved in the drafting process.
The plan is comprehensive in its goals and objectives, however, there is no specific committee to implement the plan and the goals and objectives are not assigned a responsible actor. The youth participation section of the plan is comprehensive in scope.
