Commitment to the Stockholm Agenda for Action: 28th August 1996

The Instituto Nacional Da Criança reported that Angola has a National Plan of Action, which is awaiting implementation. The plan was developed by the Instituto Nacional da Criança, the Procuradoria General da República (Office of the Attorney General), Ministério do Interior (Ministry of the Interior), Ministério da Educação e Cultura (Ministry of Education and Culture), Ministério da Saude (Ministry of Health), Ministério da Família e Promoção da Mulher (Ministry of the Family and the Promotion of Women), Ordem dos Advogados da Angola ( The Lawyers Association of Angola), Associação das Mulheres Juristas (The Association of Female Jurists) and other Non-Governmental Organizations and provincial authorities. Implementation of the plan will commence when there is enough stability in war-torn Angola to allow the activities foreseen in the plan to be carried out continuously.

The National Institute for Children in cooperation with seven ministries, NGOs and UNICEF are to implement the plan. However, very little information was received on this. According to DCI Angola, efforts for the implementation of the plan are limited only to the capital as most parts of the country are inaccessible because of the war.
