Organization Name : Pakistan Pediatric Association

Overview : The Pakistan Pediatric Association (PPA) is a representative body of pediatricians in Pakistan, with almost 1,600 members throughout the country. The Child Rights and Abuse Committee is a core group of the Association, with a mandate to promote and protect children’s rights in Pakistan. It comprises members from all four provinces and the federal territory. The main strategies and activities of PPA are carried out through awareness raising, research, advocacy, lobbying and capacity building.

Rehabilitation is an important aspect of PPA’s work. Following the October 2005 earthquake, PPA actively participated in relief and rehabilitation activities in the northern part of Pakistan and established a drop-in center for destitute and vulnerable children in Lahore, in collaboration with Groupe Developpement France.
