Overview : The Argentinean Committee for the Follow-up of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is a coalition of civil society organisations that works to promote the rights of children and adolescents. It was established in 1991 and became part of the ECPAT International network in 2007. The main objectives of the committee are to disseminate information on the CRC and mobilise the community to effectively protect the rights of children. Its work is focused on: investigating claims concerning threats to and violations of the rights of children and youth; drafting Alternative Reports to the Committee on the Rights of the Child on the Optional Protocol on the sale of children; capacity building and institutional strengthening; and monitoring the provincial and national laws on the protection of the rights of children.
